The Czech School in Adelaide proudly operates within our Czechoslovak Club, where it has been running since 2014.
The school was founded by Bety Tichoňová, Květa Koudelková, Lenka Velíšek and Jana Žilinková, who created a welcoming space for children to learn the Czech language, culture and traditions.
Since its beginning, the Czech government has supported our school by providing qualified teachers from the Czech Republic:

Michaela Svojšová began teaching online during the COVID period and later joined us in person from February 2022 until 2025.
In February 2026, we welcomed our new young teacher Lucie Svitilová, who leads our Friday evening classes with great energy and enthusiasm. Classes run every Friday when the club is open, and the school currently teaches around 30 children across three groups. Everyone is welcome to join.
Friday Evening Classes
• Kuřátka (0–4 years) – 5:15–5:45 pm
• Younger Kids (5–8 years) – 6:00–6:45 pm
• Older Kids (9+ years) – 7:00–8:00 pm
Lessons focus on Czech language development, songs, games, reading, writing and cultural traditions — always adapted to the age and level of each group.
In addition to Friday group lessons, we also offer:
Individual classes during the week after Australian school hours and adult classes held on weekdays in the afternoon or evening.
These lessons are ideal for children or adults who want to improve their Czech, prepare for travel to the Czech Republic, or maintain the language within their family.
